Things To Do Instead of Watch the Oscars

Let’s face it, for those outside the Hollywood circle, the Oscars are not particularly thrilling. Your favorite cult classic film probably won’t be nominated, and even if it is, it won’t affect your decision to watch it. The same can be said for most award shows. So, I decided to skip the Oscars this year — they just don’t hold my interest. Instead, I decided to write and make a list of things I’d rather do than watch the show:

• Instead of watching the Oscars, I could find a good book to read and get lost in a new story.
• I’d rather spend my time trying out a new recipe in the kitchen than watching the same old award show.
• Cleaning out my closet might not sound like fun, but it’s still a better use of my time than watching the Oscars.
• Instead of watching celebrities pat each other on the back, I could catch up on some work or tackle a new project.

· Watching a movie I’ve been meaning to see, but haven’t had time for yet, would be a much better use of my evening than tuning into the Oscars
